Dhillon Andrew Kannabhiran
Founder of Hack in The Box

Dhillon Andrew Kannabhiran is a Malaysian entrepreneur and cybersecurity enthusiast best known as the founder and CEO of Hack In The Box (HITB), an internationally recognized platform for cutting-edge security research and knowledge sharing. Under his leadership, HITB has grown from a small local meet-up in Kuala Lumpur (established in the early 2000s) into a global conference series held in major cities such as Amsterdam, Dubai, and Singapore.
Kannabhiran’s vision for Hack In The Box was to create a forum that promotes open knowledge exchange between security professionals, hackers, academics, and government agencies. Through keynotes, technical training sessions, and hacking contests, HITB events showcase groundbreaking research and innovative methodologies in cybersecurity.
Beyond his role at HITB, Kannabhiran is an advocate of community-driven approaches to security challenges. Prof. Adel Aneiba
PhD, Head of the College at Birmingham City University

Prof. Adel Aneiba obtained his MSc and Ph.D. degrees in mobile computing and distributed systems from Staffordshire University in 2004 and 2008, respectively.
For the past fifteen years, he has worked as a Senior Academic in many national and international universities as well as a Senior ICT Consultant for international organisations such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and several governmental organisations, where he has managed mega ICT projects primarily focused on data centre design and development, business process reengineering and capacity building.
Currently, Prof Aneiba is the Head of College of Computing and the Cyber Physical Systems Research Group Lead at Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment, Birmingham City University.
He has been successful in securing many research and enterprise grants. He is supervising several Ph.D. students on Cyber Physical Systems related projects in different application domains such as smart health, cities, and factories. His current research interests include IoT enabling technologies, data-driven networks, and digital transformation solutions.
Prof. Aneiba is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a member of many technical committees for scientific academic conferences and journals.
Prof. Mohsen Guizani

Before joining MBZUAI, Professor Guizani served in multiple administrative positions in the USA and the Gulf region, such as the Founding Associate Vice President for Graduate Studies at QU, Chair of the ECE Department at the University of Idaho, Chair of the Computer Science Department at Western Michigan University and Professor at the University of Missouri.
He was elevated to the IEEE Fellow in 2009 for his contribution to “quality of service in broadband and ad hoc wireless networks.” He is a highly cited researcher and was listed as a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in Computer Science in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Professor Guizani has won several research awards including the 2015 IEEE Communications Society Best Transaction Paper Award as well as four Best Paper Awards from top conferences, such as IEEE ICC and IEEE Globecom.
Professor Guizani’s research interests are in the field of applied machine learning and artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent autonomous systems, smart cities, and cybersecurity.
Dr. Yonghao Wang
PhD, Associate Professor and Subject Lead of Cyber Security at Birmingham City University

Dr. Yonghao (Leo) Wang is an esteemed academic with over 20 years of experience in the fields of Networking and Cybersecurity, with a special focus on blockchain technology and decentralised communication systems. His expertise also extends to Digital Signal Processing for multimedia, as well as Cloud and Edge computing. Additionally, Dr. Wang is engaged in the research of knowledge science, exploring how advanced information systems can enhance the acquisition and application of knowledge across various domains.
He has made contributions across various research areas, such as development of ethical and accessible blockchain technologies for inclusive finance and responsible AI, computer networking and cloud/edge computing, time-deterministic systems and low-latency networking for beyond 5G wired and wireless communication systems.
Dr. Wang also actively engages in the international standardisation community. He has contributed to numerous committees of global standardisation bodies, such as ETSI and AES standards. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications, including journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. In addition, he has undertaken duties such as journal reviewer, guest editor, and conference chair, to contribute to the research community.
Dr. Yussuf Ahmed
PhD, Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security and Director of the BSc / MSc Cyber Security Programmes at Birmingham City University

Dr. Yussuf Ahmed is a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security and Director of the BSc/MSci Cyber Security Programmes at Birmingham City University. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and specialises in Information Security, Cyber Assurance, Network Security, Cyber risks, and Security Governance. Yussuf is an experienced Cyber security professional with over 15 years of experience working in the industry before joining Birmingham City University and holds various industry certifications.
He holds a PhD in Cyber Security from Birmingham City University, an MSc in Information Security and Computer Forensics (Distinctions) from the University of East London and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Systems (1st Class) from the University of Northampton. His research interests are in cyber risk, Human factors of cyber security, Data Security and Privacy, Healthcare security, IoT security and Emerging tech areas.
Dr. Ibraheem Shayea

Ibraheem Shayea received the bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Diyala, in July 2004, and the master’s degree in communication and computer engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering, specializing in wireless communication systems from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in July 2010 and December 2015, respectively.
He has been an Assistant and Associate Researcher with the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, since September 2019.
He was a Researcher Fellow with ITU, between September 2018 and August 2019. He has published several scientific research journals, conference papers, and whitepapers. He is running research projects with postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D., and master’s students. His research interests include mobility management in future heterogeneous networks, mobile edge computing, machine, and deep learning, the Internet of Things, propagation of millimetre-wave, mobile broadband technology and future data traffic growth, and spectrum gap analysis.

He worked as the head of the Department for Control in the Field of Communications and Informatization of the Committee for Communications, Informatization and Information of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputy chairman of the Committee for State Control in the Field of Communications, Informatization and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 2014 to 2016.
Subsequently, he acted as the chairman of the Committee for Information Security of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also worked as the deputy chairman of the Committee for Information Security of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Askar Zhunisbek

Zhunisbek Askar Rakhimbayuly has graduated Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov, faculty of mechanics and applied mathematics. He started his career as a teacher of mathematics and informatics at Kugaly High School of Almaty region. Over the years, he has held senior positions in the field of information protection and cybercrime prevention. Since 2013 he has been working as the First deputy director of the Republican State Enterprise «State Technical Service».
At the same time, he has a diploma of computer systems security of FAPSI, Moscow.
Zhunisbek Askar Rakhimbayuly was repeatedly encouraged with departmental and government awards, various international certificates and diplomas for the achieved positive results, he has state medal «for Distinguished Labour».
Ulykbek Shambulov

Ulykbek Shambulov received his B.Sc. degree in Hardware and Software Engineering from Suleyman Demirel University. During his university years, he served as the President of the Student League.
He later earned his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Forensic Computing from Dublin University and went on to complete his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technology at Nazarbayev University in 2020.
Ulykbek Shambulov began his successful career as an Engineer Programmer at Kazakhmys Drilling in 2013. He also worked as a security researcher at JSC State Technical Service. From 2018 to 2022, he served as a Senior IT Security Engineer at BTSDigital. Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of JSC State Technical Service.
In addition, Ulykbek Shambulov holds official certifications from well-known vendors and organizations, including Splunk, BasisTech, DefensityOne, Pluralsight, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and The SecOps Group.
