He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Aston University in Birmingham, England, following an M.Phil. from the University of Birmingham. His career includes more than two decades at Gazi University, where he was appointed Professor in 2005, as well as a tenure as an expert researcher at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre and a term as Vice Rector and Dean at Istanbul Gelisim University. A widely cited researcher in renewable energy and smart grid systems, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of several international journals, including the International Journal of Renewable Energy Research, and regularly chairs major international conferences such as ICRERA and icSmartGrid.
